Qualifications and core technical competencies
BSc or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering. Minimum of 3 years post graduate engineering experience.
CADS develops and supports business-critical design and detailing software solutions for the UK Construction Industry, engineering design firms and contractors.
The Regional Sales Engineer is responsible for advising, demonstrating and helping customers to exploit our range of Structural Analysis, Design, BIM Modelling and CADS RC Detailing software products.
The suitable candidate will have enjoyed working as an Engineer but also have a strong desire to develop their commercial interests and ambitions by switching from the conventional career path to one with a developer and supplier of sophisticated software solutions. You will enjoy exploiting your engineering education and experience to the full to help Consulting Engineers and other Structural Design professionals to understand and purchase the best software solutions. You will develop a professional consultative approach to your business affairs and will wish to be considered a ‘trusted advisor’ to your clients.
The successful applicant will be a graduate civil / structural with several years of experience in the design of Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steelwork building structures and be thoroughly conversant in the use of the relevant codes of practice and at least one leading software application. A working knowledge of the CADS range of structural design software and BIM would be an advantage but not essential.
Reporting to the International Sales Director the successful candidate will be provided with the necessary support to help generate leads, respond to sales inquiries appropriately, arrange and conduct technical demonstrations of software solutions and develop, negotiate and close sales opportunities.
You will develop and manage lasting and mutually beneficial business relationships with customers, Sales Team colleagues and the Technical Support Team to provide timely responses to their problems.
From time to time you will also attend and assist with seminars, webinars, exhibitions and other events.
Place of work
You will mainly be working from home from where you will plan your travel to business meetings with customers in your specific sales territory. CADS has offices in Woking, Surrey as well as a Head Office in Poole, Dorset which can also act as a base for those living in the vicinity.
